Brandon Linder plays on the best high school football team in America,
that’s a fact. His St. Thomas Aquinas squad won the National Championship
last season, and Linder was a big part in that. During the summer however,
Linder has focused on recruiting, and has recently narrowed things down.
What lucky four schools made his list? Get inside to find out.
Linder’s Aquinas’ squad, as mentioned before, won the National Championship
last year, but he and his teammates are staying focused and want to repeat
the success they had on the field a season ago.
“We won the national championship (last season),” Linder said. “We’re doing
good, we should win at least another state championship again.”
“It’s really cool you know, just to play with those guys and they have your
back and everything.”
On the recruiting front, Linder has been a hot commodity, as a top shelf
offensive linemen, like himself, are a rare breed these days, and many of
the top programs in the country have made the heralded player a top
priority.
“About 28,” Linder said, guessing on how many offers he had. “I have a top
four of Miami, Florida, Notre Dame, and Ohio State.”
“They’re all the same thing, there’s great education, great coaches, and
just somewhere where I could feel like I could fit in.”
Linder has taken a couple of unofficial visits this summer- to Florida and
Miami- and has a plan as to where he is going to take his official visits.
“Yeah I was just at Miami the other day and I was at Florida a couple weeks
ago.” he said. “They were both good visits and I just enjoyed hanging out
with the coaches and getting to know each other.”
“Yeah, I will definitely take official visits to all of my top four.”
Though Linder doesn’t know when his much anticipated decision will come, he
has a good idea as to what he’s looking for in his ideal college.
“I don’t know when I’m going to make a decision, just when I know it’s
right.” Linder offered. “I’m just looking for great academics, coaches, and
somewhere where I could fit in.”
Linder currently ranks as #39 in ThaRinger.com’s Top 300 for the Class of
2010, and the #17 player in the state of Florida.
