Torrian Wilson
is one of the most wanted offensive linemen in the country, but he isn't as
concerned with recruiting as he is making himself and his team better. The
behemoth linemen discussed with TR the latest with his recruitment, his game,
and his team.
Wilson isn’t necessarily too fond of the recruiting process, but admitted that
there are some schools he particularly likes, and plans to make visits to.
“Recruiting is going real crazy and it’s very hectic, but I’m not really
focusing on that right now, I’m just ready to get the season started,” Wilson
said. “Right now I’m considering Miami, Stanford, Alabama, Tennessee, Florida
International, UCLA, Michigan, and Georgia Tech. Nobody is really standing out
though, everybody is even,”
“I’m planning on doing visits in August, I’m going to Stanford, Tennessee, and
Michigan right now is all I’ve decided.”
Living in South Florida, being a fan of Miami came natural to Wilson, but also
followed another team, one a little north of Miami.
“My favorite teams growing up were Michigan and Miami because Michigan, I just
like the big house and they were a powerhouse and Miami is just the hometown
school.” Wilson offered.
Wilson, along with his Miami Northwestern teammates, are especially excited to
get back on the field, and are always striving to get better.
“We went 13-2. Everyone is just coming together and working hard and everybody
is ready to get the season started and go full speed.” The 6’4, 290 pounder
said.
“My big strength is run blocking, but I would say I need to improve on my pass
blocking skills, they should be on point by this time next year and I will have
to work real hard and those should be on point next year.”
Wilson, who plans to play in the 2010 Under Armour All-American game, is not sure
when he is going to make his commitment, but knows what the main factors may or
may not be when he does have to make his final decision.
“Academics of the school, and the relationship I have with the coaches.” He
said. “Distance won’t be a factor."
Wilson currently comes in at #167 in ThaRinger.com’s Top 300 for the Class of
2010.
