3/31/09
5-Star DE Ronald Powell has named USC and Florida
his leaders. He is also interested in Tennessee.
Top recruits Cody Riggs, Alec Ogletree, Jeff Luc,
Kendrum Malcolme, Marcus Lattimore, Allen Stripling,
and Christian Jones among others will be in
Tallahassee this weekend for the Seminole Spring
Game.
Tennessee LB Justin Maclin has named LSU and Bama as
his frontrunners.
Speaking of LSU and Bama, OG Chad Lindsay will
decide between the two this Sunday. He visits
Tuscaloosa on Wednesday and I'm being told he will
choose Bama.
Ronald Carswell has Alabama sitting alone at the top
of his list. The talented WR from Georgia will
likely commit to the Tide before the end of April.
4/1/09
Duncan(SC) RB Marcus
Lattimore has named LSU, Duke, UNC, South Carolina,
Clemson, Tennessee, and Georgia as his seven
favorites. S. Carolina will be very tough to beat
here.
A couple of commitments today include: Gulfport(MS)
CB Furious Bradley to Southern Miss and Allen(TX) OL
Cedric Ogbuehi to Texas A&M.
DE Chance Carter has Nebraska, Notre Dame, Stanford,
and Wisconsin tied at the top. Carter will likely
decide his college of choice by early May.
Florida DB LaMarcus Joyner will attend the Ohio
State Spring Game on April 25th. Joyner is trying to
sway WR Chris Dunkley into coming along. I think
Dunkley ends up going w/ his good friend to Columbus
for the spring game.
Prattville(AL) S Nick Perry committed to Bama today.
4/2/09
TE Randall Telfer committed to USC.
Florida State seems to have forged ahead of Georgia
into the lead for the services of RB Eduardo
Clements. Watch for Miami with the 4 star RB though.
Pahokee(FL) DB Merrill Noel has Georgia as his early
leader.
UPDATE:
FSU just offered Noel earlier today and now leads
for the fast DB.
4/3/09
Georgia ATH Blake Sims received an offer from Alabama
today. He visits Tuscaloosa this weekend. Tennessee,
WVU, Bama, Georgia, and Michigan are all in the mix.
JUCO DT James Carmon has Tennessee and Mississippi
State out in front.
OL Juwuan James is said to have Alabama in the
driver's seat. James, a light footed OL, has a HS
teammate(OL Austin Shepherd) already committed to
Nick Saban for '10.
QB Blake Bell has committed to Oklahoma
WR Markeith Ambles will attend the FSU Spring Game
tomorrow.
WR Quinton Dunbar has de-committed from Miami and
plans to look around. Miami, Bama, UCF, UF, FSU, and
Michigan are all in play.
DE Brandon Burrows from Georgia has named UGA, UF,
Bama, NC State, and OU as his top 5.
4/4/09
WR Darius White will attend the Texas Spring Game on
Sunday. I expect him to commit to UT at some point.
Being told DT Denzel McCoy has committed to Ga.
Tech. Great pickup for the Yellow Jackets.
UPDATE:
McCoy to Ga, Tech is official.
RB Michael Dyer has named Auburn as his leader.
A day after getting an offer from Alabama, QB Blake
Sims decided to pull the trigger and commit to the
Tide.
4/5/09
Duncan(SC) RB Marcus Lattimore was in Tallahassee
this weekend for the Seminole Spring Game. Lattimore
really enjoyed himself and is scheduled to meet w/
Bobby Bowden today before leaving. I think this
weekend will go a long way for FSU's chances of
getting back toward the top of Lattimore's list.
Texas OG Chad Lindsay has pushed his announcement
back to Monday.
An underrated OL from Texas, Luke Joeckel, has
committed to Texas A&M.
LB Christian Jones named FSU his leader officially.
I have been told by a couple people that Jones is a
FSU silent.
OL Seantrel Henderson has seemed to have crossed
Notre Dame off his list. I'm being told Minnesota is
the school to beat at this time w/ Iowa, USC and Ohio
State close behind. Also, being told Florida and
Miami still have a slight chance to get into the
thick of things w/ the best OL prospect in the
nation.
4/6/09
LB Jeff Luc had a great visit to FSU over the
weekend. The visit was so good I'm hearing it put
FSU in the driver's seat for the physical LB.
OL Nick Demien seems to be favoring Missouri and
Iowa at the moment. Demien is a talented tackle
prospect that should expect some major offers soon
that will give him something to think about.
Texas OL Chad Lindsay has committed to Bama.
Chad Lindsay Interview
LB Austin Gray, from Michigan, has committed to
Iowa. Nice pickup for Ferentz.
Arkansas DB Anterio Sloan committed to Nebraska over
the weekend. Big pickup for the Cornhuskers if it
sticks.
4/7/09
LB Justin Maclin has named LSU and Bama as his top 2
w/ Tennessee and Florida at 3/4.
DT Evan Hailes named his top 4: Bama, Tennessee, NC
State, and LSU.
After a visit to Tallahassee over the weekend DB
Alec Ogletree still has Miami out in front.
WR Ronald Carswell has committed to Alabama.
LB Gideon Ajagbe has committed to Florida.
Hearing that Jaylen Watkins and Gerald Christian
will make their commitments to Florida public in the
near future.
OL Robert Crisp has made his commitment to NC State
public.
4/8/09
Tampa(FL) CB Terrence Mitchell has named FSU as his
leader. Mitchell wants to take all his official
visits before he decides.
LB C.J. Mosley has named a top 4 of Alabama,
Tennessee, LSU, and Auburn. It should come down to
Auburn/Bama. C.J. likes the depth chart at Auburn and
the coaches at Bama. He is tentatively scheduled to
visit Tuscaloosa on April 18th for the spring game.
CB Cody Riggs has named his seven finalists. They
are Michigan, Notre Dame, UF, Wake, UGA, Wisconsin,
and FSU. It will come down to FSU, UF and Notre Dame.
Being told that Kissimmee(FL) LB B.J. Butler is
looking like a Georgia Bulldog.
Hearing that CB Lamarcus Joyner will stop by FSU on
his way to Bama.
Michigan will have a nice group of blue chip
recruits up to Ann Arbor this weekend for their
spring game. Visitors include Marvin Robinson,
Ricardo Miller, C.J. Olaniyan, Devin Gardner, Jerald
Robinson, Dior Mathis, William Gholston, Latwan
Anderson, Josh Furman, Austin White, and 2011 stud
prospect DeAnthony Arnett among others. This might
be the weekend that Marvin Robinson goes public with
his Michigan commitment.
5 star DT Louis Nix has said he had a great time up
in Tallahassee last weekend and that he got to know FSU real well.
4/9/09
ATH Lynden Trail named his final ten recently w/
Florida as his surprising leader. The other 9 are:
USC, UGA, FSU, Miami, Tennessee, Michigan, USF, Bama,
and South Carolina. I think Trail ends up a
Hurricane.
CB LaMarcus Joyner had to cancel his trip north due
to a family matter.
Newport Beach(CA) ATH Cecil Whiteside has committed
to Cal.
Looks like Ohio State is coming on strong for TE
C.J. Fiedorowicz.
Ohio State have offered Baltimore(MD) LB Jim Poggi.
Rumors floating around that RB Silas Redd will
commit to Penn State at the spring game. Wouldn't be
surprised if Khairi Fortt and/or Adrian Coxson made
it official as well.
Being told that Flowery Branch(SC) QB Connor Shaw
could commit to South Carolina any day.
WR Solomon Patton is really liking Florida right now
and could commit to them soon.
4/10/09
Being told that Liberty(MO) WR Marcus Lucas is down
to Missouri and Oklahoma. I think he ends up at
Missouri.
Jaylen Watkins has officially gone public for
Florida.
Florida State has offered Miami Central QB Jeffrey
Godfrey. With good friend Brandon Gainer(100% FSU)
as his teammate Godfrey will no doubt have something
to think about. Godfrey has offers from USF,
Michigan, Miami, UGA, and Tennessee.
Lots of rumblings surrounding Florida commitment
Demar Dorsey opening his recruitment back up. With
the public commitment of Jaylen Watkins this seems
like it will happen. I'm being told Miami,
Michigan, Tennessee, and FSU are all in play along w/ Florida.
4/11/09
Hearing that Texas RB Stephen Hopkins has committed
to Michigan this morning.
UPDATE:
Hopkins to Michigan is
official.
LB/S prospect from Kissimmee(FL) Marc Deas has made
his commitment to UGA public. His teammate B.J.
Butler should join him soon.
UGA picked up another commitment today w/ the pledge
of Top 300 member OL/DL Kolton Houston.
QB Connor Shaw has committed to South Carolina.
4/12/09
Among the visitors at Oklahoma's spring game were
Demarco Cobbs, Blake Bell, Justin McCay, Corey
Nelson, Tyrus Thompson, Kyle Prater, Marcus Lucas,
Jackson Jeffcoat, Shaun Lewis, Xavier Grimble, and
Michael Dyer. Prater, a WR from Illinois, enjoyed
his visit and Oklahoma seems to have pulled even w/
Illinois and Notre Dame in the services for Prater.
Top 300
DT Cassius Marsh has committed to Cal.
RB Michael Dyer had a nice trip to Norman this
weekend. Auburn and Arkansas remain the two
possibilities for Dyer at this point.
Miami(FL) OL Torrian Wilson had an excellent visit
to Michigan for the spring game. So well in fact
that Wilson has put Michigan on top of his list of
schools. From what I've heard the only way Wilson
doesn't go to Miami is if the Hurricanes let him get
away.
4/13/09
WR Tai-ler Jones will make his decision on Thursday
between Notre Dame, UNC, Stanford, and Georgia. I'm hearing it's
UGA. Also being told that Stanford is a real player
in this and that Harbaugh and company have made up a
lot of ground.
Top RB Lache Seastrunk and good friend Travon Reed
had a great visit to Auburn over the weekend. Auburn
is a real possibility for both from what I'm hearing
at this stage. The duo is rumored to be a package
deal. In the end, LSU will be tough to beat for both
the 5 star prospects.
5 Star DT Brandon Willis has named UNC, FSU, and UGA
as his favorites. UGA has made up a lot of ground on
the talented Willis, but I'd be surprised if he
didn't sign w/ Florida State on NSD.
Tampa(FL) OL Chaz Green has named Florida as his
leader. USC, Tennessee, and FSU are the other
schools in play.
4/14/09
Depending on whom I speak with, it is either
Stanford or UGA for WR Tai-ler Jones. The consensus
being UGA.
Huge DT Dak Smith has officially committed to USC.
Lots of rumors around that Lache Seastrunk and
Trovon Reed committed while at Auburn this past
weekend. I've been told that isn't true, but Auburn
definitely hit a home run w/ the coveted duo.
4/15/09
5 star DB LaMarcus Joyner will be in Tallahassee
today to visit Florida State. Joyner has said he
can't wait and that he is very excited to meet Coach
Buckley in person. UPDATE: Joyner has decided
to stay overnight in Tallahassee.
Top 300 LB Tony Jefferson has named a top 5 of USC,
Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida, and Georgia.
Notre Dame will have a nice array of players at
their spring game this Saturday. Among them are C.J.
Fiedorowicz, Nick Montana, Khairi Fortt, Cody Riggs,
Chris Martin, Christian Lombard, Justin McCay,
Spencer Boyd, and James Stone. The Irish could pick
up anywhere from 3 to 0 commits w/ Riggs,
Fiedorowicz, and Boyd being the most likely
candidates.
Chesapeake(VA) QB Phillip Sims has committed to
Alabama.
4/16/09
Hearing that WR Tai-ler Jones will announce for
Stanford today.
Couple of Miami notes:
STA DB Brian Robinson is thought to be a heavy Cane
lean and might pull the trigger pretty soon.
Another prospect that should join the Canes soon is
DE Corey Lemonier.
DB LaMarcus Joyner will spend another day in
Tallahassee. Joyner was originally scheduled to stay
for only 4-6 hours on Wednesday.
Tai-ler Jones has committed to Stanford.
OL James Hurst has named his top 5; Miss. St., Ohio
State, Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina. I've
been told Florida is in the lead.
Looks like WR Solomon Patton(Florida lean) and
LaDarius Owens will forego the LSU spring game in
order to attend Alabama's spring game. Owens, an
underrated LB prospect from Alabama, has Auburn and
Bama as his top 2. The Tide need a good showing this
weekend.
Seems like the visit to Florida State is going
pretty well for LaMarcus Joyner. He now says FSU
leads for his services.
4/17/09
Hearing that Cincinnati(OH) OL Matt James will
commit to Notre Dame this weekend while in South
Bend.
Rumors abound regarding Alabama's upcoming weekend.
A couple bits:
Phillip Sims is in the ear of WR Solomon Patton and
is trying to sway him to the Crimson Tide. Patton,
who just last week was a heavy Gator lean, is now on
the verge of committing to Alabama from what I'm
hearing.
Another visitor who is headed to Tuscaloosa this
weekend is WR Markieth Ambles. I've been told there
is a decent chance for an Ambles commit by the end
of Sunday.
Hearing that Tavadis Glenn has committed to Miami.
Marvin Robinson has made his commitment to Michigan
public.
Hot15 member Risean Broussard has committed to
Tennessee. Expect the DT from Louisiana to jump in a
lot of rankings in the future.
Alabama will have a plethora of elite 2010 recruits
in for their spring game tomorrow. Among those
confirmed are Garry Peters, C.J. Moseley, William
Gholston, Chris Dunkley, Jarrick Williams, Ryan
Smith, De'Joshua Johnson, Nash Nance, Damien
Robinson, Vincent Sanders, Eric Mack, Giovanni
Benard, Juwuan James, Harrison Jones, Mack Brown,
Roy Finch, DeAndrew White, Markieth Ambles, Solomon
Patton, LaDarius Owens, Brandon Burrows, and Da'Rick
Rogers.
Tavadis Glenn to Miami is official.
Possible commits to Alabama this weekend are TE
Harrison Jones, WR Solomon Patton, WR Markieth
Ambles, DE Craig Sanders, DE Wilson Love.
4/18/09
DB LaMarcus Joyner has made his way from Tallahassee
to Knoxville for the Tennessee spring game.
Saint Thomas Aquinas(FL) DB Keion Payne visited FSU
this past week w/ best friend LaMarcus Joyner.
Payne, who only has a verbal offer from FSU at this
time, said Florida St. is his #1 school. If FSU
gives him a written offer I expect him to commit on
the spot and that would further cement Joyner to
Florida State. Payne has joined Joyner at the UT
spring game.
Kind of off topic, but Duke backup PG Greg Paulus
won't be going to Michigan and honestly would never
have been in contention to be the QB there. I expect
him to land at Syracuse if anywhere.
DE Wilson Love has committed to Alabama.
Being told that Dallas Skyline(TX) LB Corey Nelson
will follow high school teammate Mike Davis to LSU.
JUCO OL Brice Schwab committed to USC today while
visiting their scrimmage.
Hearing that West Palm(FL) ATH Gerald Christian
couldn't make it to the UF spring game. Instead of
making his commitment public in Gainesville, he will
now officially commit at his HS spring jamboree.
Washington QB Jake Heaps has named a top five of
Tennessee, BYU, Cal, Washington, and LSU. It Should
come down to UW and BYU w/ UW being the choice.
Tennessee could be the darkhorse.
West Virginia picked up a couple commitments today
in LB Davion Rogers and ATH Mike Dorsey.
Colorado OL Mike Moudy has committed to Nebraska.
Olive Branch(MS) OL Shun Coleman has committed to
Auburn. This will only help w/ the recruitment of
Coleman's teammate Damien Robinson.
Rumors about Lache Seastrunk and Marcus Lattimore
discussing going to Auburn together are flying
around. Haven't heard anything about this. In fact,
I've been told Lattimore is looking to be a featured
back as a freshman. While Seastrunk is an Auburn
possibility, I just don't see it w/ Lattimore. I
think it's a 4 way race between UNC, S. Carolina,
FSU, and Georgia for Lattimore.
Hearing that Delray Beach(FL) ATH James Louis
committed to Florida today.
LB B.J. Butler has officially committed to Georgia.
RB Mack Brown attended the UF spring game today
instead of the Bama game. The Gator coaching staff
has made RB a real priority in recruiting this year
and Brown is near the top of the list. It will come
down to UGA or UF for Brown.
Alabama has landed ThaRinger.com's #2 player in
Alabama for 2011, WR Marvin Shinn.
4/19/09
Looks like Notre Dame had a
successful Saturday w/ a couple elite recruits. Kyle
Prater and teammate Corey Cooper were happy w/ the
visit and ND should be in the thick of things for
the duo. They seemed to impress OL James Stone so
much that ND now is at the top of his list. Cody
Riggs, Lo Wood(who is loving ND), Spencer Boyd, Nick
Montana, Justin McCay, and James Stone are all
staying an extra day in South Bend.
Maryland LB Javarie Johnson, a candidate for The Hot
List, has committed to Michigan.
UPDATE:
Looks like Johnson's HS coach
jumped the gun and Javarie hasn't officially
committed to Michigan yet.
One more tidbit from the ND
spring game. Stamford(CT) LB Khairi Fortt attended
and a couple ND people I've spoken with seem to
think they pulled even w/ Penn State after the
visit. I'm hearing the exact opposite.
I'm being told along
w/ Silas Redd, Fortt is now seriously considering
committing to PSU next weekend.
Underrated Pittsburgh(PA) LB Myles Davis has
committed to Syracuse. The Orange have also added QB
John Kinder.
DB LaMarcus Joyner has concluded his week of visits.
Tennessee, FSU, and Alabama all got a look from the
top CB in the country. Joyner was impressed by all 3
places, but says Florida State was the best. Joyner
went on to name no favorites until he visits
Colombus next weekend. It looks like the Buckeyes
will have to hit a home run to stay at the top of
his list.
Duncan(SC) RB Marcus Lattimore has named Auburn his
leader after his weekend visit. Auburn is in play
for all top 3 RB's in 2010 and have a good chance to
land one. I can't see Lattimore being that guy
though.
S/LB Luke Muncie has
committed to LSU.
WR De'Joshua Johnson enjoyed his visit to Tuscaloosa
so much that he put Alabama in his top 2 w/ Florida
State. I wouldn't get my hopes up Bama fans; this
one has been over for a while. Expect Johnson to
announce for FSU in late September.
Solomon Patton, a great WR prospect from Mobile(AL),
has said he doesn't want to rush into his decision
and has named a top 6 of Florida, Southern Miss,
Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU. Patton went on
to say he plans to announce on or near NSD, but
could do it sooner if things become too much. I
expect him to announce for Bama or Florida.
Underrated DE/DT Richard Ash from Pahokee(FL) has
named Florida as his leader. Ash, who could play
either DL position in college, just received an
offer from Florida this past week. Florida, Florida
State, and Miami should all get a good look w/ USC
being the darkhorse.
4/20/09
Hearing that Nebraska is pretty far out in front for
Keeston Terry and a commitment might not be far off.
Being told that JUCO stud WR
Kenbrell Thompkins is very close to committing
to UF.
Notre Dame made quite
an impression on ATH Spencer Boyd. Boyd, I'm told,
almost committed over the weekend. I expect Boyd to
commit to ND fairly soon if he doesn't receive an
offer from Miami.
Rumors floating around about
a possible Kelcy Quarles de-commit from South
Carolina. It seems like the talented DT is going
back and forth on SC/Tennessee.
Looks like OL Matt James decided to hold off on that
ND commitment after visiting an Ohio State practice.
DE Brandon Burrows has named UF, Bama, and UGA as
his top three.
LB Tony Jefferson has USC in front by a wide margin
and a commitment should come soon.
Baltimore(MD) LB/DB Jordan
Haden has officially committed to Florida.
A prospect that is sure to rise in the national
rankings is Corona(CA) DB Demetrius Wright. Wright,
a 6'1 CB, has a top 2 of Arizona and Oregon w/
Tennessee as a darkhorse. If USC offers, it could
get interesting.
Hot List
member, RB Trajuan Briggs, has a top 2 of Cal and
USC. In the end I think Briggs ends up at USC.
Hearing that LB Gerald
Christian has gone public w/ his UF commitment.
UPDATE:
Christian to UF officially public.
It seems like Virginia Beach(VA) WR Justin Hunter
had such a good time at his unofficial to LSU this
past weekend that now the Tigers have surged to the
top of his list. In fact, I've been told that Les
Miles and company feel pretty confident a commitment
isn't far off from the ultra talented prospect.
4/21/09
Ariton(AL) DE Craig Sanders, I'm told, will commit
to Alabama in the near future.
Ohio State has a nice group of talent this weekend
coming in. Among the visitors for the spring game
are Spencer Ware, Cody Riggs, Scott McVey, Garrison
Smith, Nick Montana, Mack Brown, LaMarcus Joyner,
Matt James, Tyrone Williams, Andrew Norwell, Corey
Brown, Dior Mathis, and 2011 stud
Braxton Miller.
It looks like Penn State QB commit Paul Jones has
wandering eyes. Jones, one of the top QB prospects
in the country, still says he is "kind of" committed
but will take a look at WVU, Pitt, and Stanford in
the coming weeks. While Jones is firming up his
decision, PSU looks to be in good shape w/
underrated Michigan QB Robert Bolden.
A report came out today touting Michigan as the
leader for Dallas(TX) LB Corey Nelson. I haven't
heard anything to this effect until now and was told
last week that LSU would end up w/ Nelson.
Ft. Lauderdale(FL) DB Cody Riggs has named Notre
Dame as his leader. Also hearing that Riggs has
cancelled his trip to Columbus. I would expect Riggs
to announce for Notre Dame and to do it pretty soon.
If he doesn't, Miami, FSU, UGA, and UF all become
players.
4/22/09
Garry Peters, CB from GA., has named Alabama as a
way out in front leader after visiting A-Day this
weekend. He should commit as soon as he can get his
family on a visit to the Capstone.
I have heard a dozen different stories concerning
Tavaris Barnes and whether or not he's committed to
UF. I believe he has committed and it should be
confirmed later today. The real question should be
'does it matter'?
I don't see Barnes ending up at UF by NSD '10.
QB Nick Montana
doesn't look like he will be making his scheduled
trip to the OSU spring game, but should visit in the
near future. It doesn't look good for the Buckeyes
right now, but things could change.
It looks like LSU transfer Phelon Jones will land at
Alabama. Jones has 2 years of eligibility left and
would be available starting in 2010.
A couple of website notes:
1. Full NFL Draft Blog Saturday/Sunday on the NFL
Page. Come join us and talk the Draft.
2. Full FREE Message Board will be up and running in
mid May.
3. This site is only a couple months old and will
only continue to get better w/ more staff coming
aboard. I hope you all enjoy the forthcoming changes
and thank you for taking the time to visit.
Premier TE prospect Xavier Grimble will announce his
college destination on Friday. It's between USC and
Oklahoma w/ USC most likely being the choice.
Website report
recently about DT Jacobbi McDaniel possibly playing
professional baseball instead of attending FSU. I've
heard there is ZERO chance of that happening and
Jacobbi will be attending FSU.
OL Mark Shuman has committed to Virginia Tech.
DT Tavaris Barnes will now hold off for a couple of
weeks before he makes his decision. UF is definitely
the leader at this point, but don't discount FSU. I
was told he in fact did commit, but then his family
intervened and asked him to take some time.
LSU has offered
Hot List
member QB Jesse Scroggins. The underrated QB from
Lakewood(CA) will be a top 10 QB recruit before the
end of the cycle.
Looks like Bamberg(SC)
OL A.J. Cann will announce for South Carolina in the
next couple weeks.
Update on DB Cody Riggs; I'm being told he WILL make
the trek up to Columbus for the OSU spring game. In
other Buckeye news, hearing that Ft. Wayne(IN) RB
Rod Smith will likely make his Ohio State pledge
public this weekend. Smith is one of the most
underrated players in the nation.
Wow! OL James Hurst has committed to North Carolina.
Great get for the Heels.
4/23/09
Looks like the
nation's number one TE Xavier Grimble has committed
to USC. He will announce it on Friday.
USC has offered Miami(FL) DE/TE Lynden Trail
and have caused Trail to re-think his list of
schools. He can say what he wants, but in the end
Trail is all Miami.
Look for one of Christian Green, Jared Haggins, or
Kenny Shaw to make their FSU commitment public in
the near future. The 'Noles need some momentum and
the coaching staff knows it.
JUCO DT Patrick Harris has committed to Tennessee.
Seems like a bit of a reach from Orgeron, but he
knows more than I.
Looks like Jacksonville(FL) ATH and South Carolina
commit Sean Tapley is anything but committed. I'm
hearing Tapley is on the verge of a change in
commitment to the University of Miami.
4/24/09
Pennsylvania(PA) OL Seth Betancourt has named Boston
College and Rutgers as his top 2. He will attend the
BC spring game tomorrow.
Miami(FL) RB Eduardo Clements has named UGA, Miami,
and FSU as his top 3. While I once thought there was
no chance of Clements going anywhere other than FSU;
I now feel he most likely will. The Seminole coaches
are just not recruiting him at all. I'd say Miami in
the end.
Penn State will be hosting a very nice group of
players tomorrow. Included in the select group are
Adrian Coxson, Paul Jones, Mike Hull, Josh Furman,
Khairi Fortt, Dakota Royer, Sharrif Floyd, and Silas
Redd. Expect a couple commits w/ Redd, Coxson, and
Fortt being the most likely.
Georgia has offered San Diego(CA) RB Brennan Clay.
Clay is a unique RB prospect who could also play in
the slot. The talented prospect had over 1,000 yards
rushing and receiving as a Junior. Michigan is said
to be out in front for Clay.
4/25/09
Underrated LB Scott McVey has committed to Ohio
State.
Penn State commitment QB Paul Jones has made it
clear he is intent on being a Penn State Nittany
Lion after his visit to Happy Valley today. Jones
had somewhat opened his recruitment in the last
couple weeks.
DL Ego Ferguson was at the Maryland spring game
today. Ferguson seems to be wide open.
Talk out of Columbus that DB LaMarcus Joyner is
loving his visit and was close to pulling the
trigger for OSU. I expect to hear these same stories
w/ Joyner all the way until Feb. '10.
4/26/09
Lamarcus Joyner has made it
back from his Ohio State experience. Joyner enjoyed
himself by all accounts saying it was his best visit
yet along w/ Florida State. I'm sure this battle
will last all the way until Feb. 3rd, 2010.
Hot List member
Darian Stone was named QB MVP of the Athens Nike
Camp.
Springville(AL) WR Jeremy Richardson has named
Auburn as his leader. Chizik and his staff are doing
a heck of a job.
4/27/09
LB Jim Poggi has committed to
Iowa. Iowa might have one of the surprise classes
this year. A top 15 class is possible if things fall
their way.
WR/S prospect Ted Meline has named a top 3 of
Oregon, Georgia, and Tennessee.
DL Telvin Smith has named Florida State as his
leader. A commitment shouldn't be too far off for
the Seminoles.
The #1 ranked player at present on this site, DE
Jackson Jeffcoat said he plans to visit Georgia,
Cal, Rutgers, USC, Florida, and Stanford by the end
of summer. Jeffcoat has already had unofficials to
Texas, LSU, and Oklahoma.
DE Allen "T.J." Stripling has named a top 5 of
Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, and
Clemson. I think he ends up at UGA, although FSU and
Tennessee have come on strong as of late.
USC has offered WR Kyle
Prater.
4/28/09
Little bit of Florida HS football news. WR Chris
Dunkley has transferred to Pahokee HS.
Interesting...
ATH Ronnie Vinson has named
Alabama, USC, LSU, UCLA, Tennessee, and Michigan as
his leaders. Vinson, most likely a safety, will be
hard to pry away from LSU.
Jacksonville(FL) DB Rashad
Knight has picked up an offer from Michigan after an
impressive showing at the Nike camp this past
weekend. Knight, at 5'11 with 4.4 speed, is an
underrated player that is sure to get more major
offers. The speedy DB named Michigan his leader
on the spot.
4/29/09
Portland(OR) DE Owamagbe
Odighizuwa has named Stanford, USC, and Florida as his
top 3. I think he wants to go to USC, but may end up
at Stanford due to the USC number crunch at the DE
position.
Rumors flying around today involving Tennessee.
Could a big time commit
happen as soon as tonight?
Some people think so w/ Kelcy Quarles at the top of
their wish lists. Haven't heard anything concrete on
this rumor though.
Rising DE prospect Fre'Shad Hunter has named LSU,
UF, FSU, and NC State his leaders. Hearing NC State
and LSU are out in front.
Hialeah(FL) DT Calvin Smith has some very impressive
recent offers from
the likes of UF, Miami, Tennessee, Notre Dame, and
FSU. With that said, I was told a month ago that
Smith was all Illinois.
Hearing highly recruited QB Austin Hinder has Cal
out in front.
Also, being told Penn State could have a couple of
commitments in the near future led by Adrian Coxson
and Silas Redd.
Rumors that QB Jake Heaps has silently committed to
Tennessee are everywhere. I have heard nothing about
this from anybody I know, but I'll keep looking into
it. Washington was thought to be the other school in
play.
4/30/09
Pahokee CB Merrill Noel has Wake, WVU, and Georgia
as his present top 3. FSU, once in the lead for
Noel, is still in play, but barely. Noel doesn't
like the off-field issues in Tallahassee. In an
unrelated rare bit of good news for FSU these days,
Greg Reid is looking like he'll qualify.
WR Adrian Coxson has
officially committed to Penn State. Nice get for Joe
Paterno and staff.
Greenwell Springs(LA) ATH
Drew Dileo has committed to Michigan.
Regarding yesterday's Heaps rumor of silently
committing to Tennessee. I've spoken w/ a couple of
Tennessee people and a west coast guy; while the UT
people are pretty confident w/ where they are at w/
Heaps at this juncture, they have not heard of a
commitment. One of my guys on the west coast is
telling me BYU, Washington, and UT all have a shot,
but in his words "No way" did Heaps already commit.
If I were a Vols fan I'd want Jesse Scroggins more
anyway.
Pennsylvania (PA) OL Seth Betancourt has committed
to Boston College. Heck of a grab by the Eagles.
Betancourt will rise in the rankings and w/
underrated QB Joe Boisture, BC is off to a great
start.
