Cyrus has the prototypical size and length that scouts
look for in a premier left tackle. Right now, he's 295
and looks lean. Could easily put on 30-40 pounds without
losing much. Very long arms and strong hands that allow
him to get on a defender quickly and finish. Excellent
athleticism and feet, moves very well for a man his
size. Good strength, but plays too high at times and
gets pushed back because of it. There are still some
technique issues here, but his physical tools are
special.
Translation to College:
If Cyrus can put on weight without losing much and
refine some of his technique while playing with a wider,
lower base -- the sky is the limit. He has all the raw
tools scouts look for in a 1st round NFL left tackle.
Should start to contribute in college as a sophomore and
is likely to test the NFL waters after his junior
season.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
