Steve has the size and skills to play all of the
linebacker positions or defensive end in a 4-3 and we
like that versatility. Really strong lower body that
helps him get good drive when engaged. Stout run
defender that will always be around the ball in the run
game. Very quick to read and react to what the offense
is doing over the course of a game. Really good
fundamentals and a sure tackler. For the most part Steve
plays with very good leverage and displays a hunger an
elite linebacker possesses to get to the ball. Gets good
depth on his drops in zone coverage schemes and reads
the quarterback well. If he stays at linebacker at the
next level, his speed could be something to improve
upon.
Translation to College:
Texas got a good one here. Not a finished product by any
stretch, but he's pretty advanced fundamentally and
physically. Has a good chance to contribute right away
if the depth chart allows him an opportunity. Almost a
sure thing to be at least a two-year starter if he stays
healthy and the potential to set some tackling records
at UT.
For
Kiehl Frazier, the awards, and scholarship offers, keep
on coming. The 6’3” 210 pound star signal-caller from
Arkansas’ Shiloh Christian was just recently named the
2009 4A Arkansas Player of the Year. The next morning,
TCU offered him a scholarship. It was the 14th offer for
Frazier already.
November 23rd, 2004 was
an exciting day in Columbia, South Carolina. A
day filled with hope and anticipation of what
was to come. The Gamecocks had just inked a SEC
coaching legend to coach their football team.
The "Fun 'n' Gun" was coming to save the day or
at least make it better. Surely a coach that led
Duke University to an ACC title could fix the
little problems at South Carolina.
With the 2010 recruiting cycle inching towards
the finish line, here at ThaRinger we feel it’s
a better time to more clearly evaluate the
off-season’s coaching changes with the recently
gained recruiting hindsight. There were 22 head
coaching changes and not all of those changes
were created equally.
